'Timewarp' with Ollie Gozzard

Ollie Gozzard says the idea behind his Timewarp show is to bring all those great memories of yesteryear flooding back. The show will focus on the music of the 1970s and 1980s with occasional excursions into earlier decades, all of which comprise - in Ollie’s view - halcyon days of rock and pop.

The show will feature many classic tracks as well as rare grooves, played on vinyl.

Ollie says: "Musts on my play-list include Elvis Costello and the Attractions, Graham Parker and the Rumour, and early Bob".

Ollie has worked as a poet, comedian, promoter and journalist. He comperes and runs the Lewes Poetry club upstairs at the Lewes Arms on the third Thursday of most months. The club has counted top poets John Agard, Elvis McGonagall, Dreadlockalien and Catherine Smith among its headliners. Ollie also publishes the work of a wide range of poets on the Oliver’s Poetry website at www.oliverspoetry.com.

Next April he is to launch his first poetry book 'The Commuter’s Tale' - a long narrative poem inspired by the life of Lord Byron.

Ollie spent five years as a comedian on the London comedy circuit and for eight years promoted "Britain’s maddest comedy club" - Joe’s Comedy Madhouse. He was also a pop columnist and TV critic at the Daily Star, reporter at the Sunday Telegraph, and pop critic for publications including Music Week and Record Mirror. His radio and television credits include BBC Radio 5, Radio 4, Virgin Radio, Talk Radio and GMTV.
