BEHIND THE SCENES IN 2007

We know you're all fascinated to know what it's like up at the Rocket Global Broadcasting Complex - so here are some photos!

At the start of the Rocket FM run, everything is neat and tidy. This notice-board, for instance, shows that a careful - nearly neurotic - hand has been involved in its careful arrangement. You should see what things look like at the end of the run!

It may look as though Andy Reeve is checking his bingo numbers, but that's something we haven't yet got around to on Rocket FM. In fact, he's double-checking the programme schedule, to see who's due on next.

Derek Watts, with the famous but so-far nameless Rocket bear. Our intrepid astronaut doesn't even need a space-suit - he is happy to ride the skies in his leather aviator jacket and goggles.
It's always busy in the back office (the studio admin and waiting room area). Rupert Lloyd Thomas gets to know some of the guests on his show, with Andy Reeve in the background.

Andy Reeve in the back office with the computer which sends off the audio stream which you can receive via this web site and which also uploads the pictures from the studio webcam - and it's the software controlling that which is on his computer screen. In the top left-hand corner of the photo you can see the red "On Air So Shut Up Out There" warning light. Are you fascinated by these little insights? Yes, we thought you wouldn't be...

While their father, Jack Kellet, was being interviewed by Rupert Lloyd Thomas, Izzy and Lulu had a tour of the Rocket FM Global Headquarters, and posed proudly in their Rocket T-shirts.

With Peter Flanagan in the studio we have not only the famous Rocket FM Teddy, but also the orange-and-green Quentin whom you will often have heard mentioned.

With Dino and Ruth on Monday 29th October we had Paul Soane, manager of the Lewes branch of Waitrose - the firm who kindly sponsor this web site.

OK, this isn't exactly in the studio - but we thought you'd like to see it anyway, if you're not in Lewes. It's our display in the Tourist Information Office window.

You'll have heard Caroline on-air giving the weather reports - and if you've phoned up, it will often have been Caroline who answered the call. So here she is in all her glory, firstly in the studio ready to do the weather, and then in Rocket's very own red-light district, looking ready to paint the town red...
