INCREDIBLE RANGE OF ROCKET SIGNAL!
A gentleman in Hull has picked up the Rocket FM signal. Not via the web streaming, but via radio equipment!
John, otherwise known as "Captain Kirk", has been a radio enthusiast for 50 years, and clearly has some pretty spectacular reception kit. He regularly listens out for what he can find on the short wavebands, and found Rocket FM on our second day of this run - despite living over 200 miles north of Lewes!
Of course, our transmitted signal can't reach anywhere near that far by line-of-sight alone, but radio signals also beam up into space, never-endlingly. Unless something gets in the way, of course - like the moon, or an artificial satellite - and bounces the signal back down to earth again. And it was by this route that Captain Kirk was able to listen in to Dilly Barlow's interview with Angela Bruce and "The Wireless Years" with Peter Bailey.
We're very glad that he signed the Guestbook to let us know. (Have YOU signed the Guestbook yet?)
