Dino Bishop co-presents (with Ruth O’Keeffe MBE) Rocket FM’s breakfast show, Up With Dino and Ruth, sponsored by WE Clark and Son, which the pair have hosted for the past eleven years. He can also be heard presenting on Saturday mornings (Dino’s Magic Box) and Sunday lunchtimes. For a number of years, he has been part of Rocket FM’s Bonfire coverage team and will again provide Rocket’s commentary of the Fifth.
Dino’s fascination with radio started as a boy, when he used to play at being a DJ and made his own sound effects cassette tapes. Spool forward a couple of decades and Dino’s first appearance on Rocket FM was to be as a guest on Rupert Lloyd-Thomas’ show in 2002. He stayed on to make the coffee and to learned how to operate the desk from Andy McBean. (That explains a lot. Ed.) Apart from Rocket FM, Dino has also appeared on BBC Radio Sussex.
If you can’t get enough of Dino from your radio, you’ll also find him on stage at Lewes Town Hall with LOS Musical Theatre, where he has performed a number of principal roles. He also appears with the LADS panto (Lewes Arms Dramatic Society), has performed with St Mary’s pantomime and is often called upon to compere concerts and charity events.
