Union Music Show 250

Stevie Freeman co-presents the Union Music Show (Sundays, 3pm – 5pm) with Jamie Freeman

Americana music is Stevie’s passion and she was delighted to be invited to join the board of the Americana Music Association in 2013. She made it her mission to get the website up and running and to drive membership recruitment through social media outlets. In 2014 Stevie became Chair, and recently spearheaded the British contingent to the AMA festival in Nashville.

Stevie also drove the idea of the UK’s first Americana chart, and two years’ hard work has finally born fruit, with the Official Chart Company due to launch it later this month.

Having always been an entertainment and retail entrepreneur, Stevie decided to open Union Music Store with Jamie back in 2010. They had been making regular trips to Nashville and loved that almost all record shops and cafes had small stages – five years ago they came home with a plan to bring a touch of Nashville to Lewes. They soon started promoting regular gigs and weekly in-stores, the shop became a hub the local roots music scene. They now also have a small independent record label and recording studio, with ten releases to date.
