Toothbrush, Passport, Camera (Diary of a Photojournalist)

For more than 60 years the acclaimed photojournalist John Robert Young has travelled the world, from the Great Wall of China to the rain forests of South America and the remote regions of Africa; documenting war, famine and devastation. He has photographed famous politicians, actors, artists, musicians, beautiful women, a Nobel Prize winner and religious leaders ─ along with the odd terrorist.

jry-coverHe was personal photographer to two future Prime Ministers (Britain’s Edward Heath and Canadian Lester B. Pearson) as well as the tetchy Hollywood star Shirley MacLaine. He worked on international film sets with famous actors and directors.

After a globe-trotting career in photojournalism, John chronicles his incredible life and times in an engrossing memoir, Toothbrush, Passport and Camera (Diary of a Photojournalist). He talks to Rocket FM’s Dino Bishop about his extraordinary adventures meeting some of the twentieth century’s most legendary figures.
