LISTEN TO ROCKET ON-LINE!

Yes, from 13th October to 6th November 2007, you can listen live to Rocket FM wherever you are in the world!

(And don't forget our wonderful new webcam facility as well!)

You will need three or four things:

  •  Get the latest Media Player here  Windows Media Player (which is free, and can be downloaded here - you only have to download it once and can then use it every time you want to listen to us) or equivalent software;
  • A reasonably up-to-date browser which supports this software plug-in;
  • You must have Javascript enabled. (If the menu links at the side of this page change colour when you move your mouse over them, then you have Javascript enabled.  If you are running a personal firewall, however, please enable Javascript pop-up windows for this site.)  If you are running a recent version of Internet Explorer which incorporates a pop-up stopper, click in the pop-up stopper bar underneath the title bar and enable pop-ups for www.rocketfm.org.uk.
  • You may have to enable active content for www.tastic.biz. If you don't know what this means, you probably don't have it disabled.

Thanks to those wonderful people at Tastic, you should be able to receive Rocket over a dial-up connection at somewhere between 28Kb and 56Kb. The streaming server will automatically detect the type of your connection, and serve you with the appropriate quality of stream - top-quality for broadband, and slightly lower quality for dial-up. If you are having any problems listening over your dial-up connection, let us know.

 Link to audio stream (Pentlander Labs Digital RR3 Tuner) Then click on this state-of-the-art radio to go to our on-line audio stream - and enjoy!  (You can then, if you wish, read more about this radio.)  There is a delay of about 20 seconds compared to the airwave signal, so don't believe any time-checks you hear. The pop-up window holds both the audio stream - which should start automatically, and whose controls are at the bottom of the window - and the webcam stream, to access which you have to click on "Play Video". The webcams have no sound, so you can run both together with no problem!

On later visits, you don't even have to scroll down to here - just click on text link at the top of this page.

Oh, and if you're listening from outside the UK, please do sign our guestbook and tell us about it!  If you leave an interesting message, it may even go out on air.

(Netscape user? Clicking on the trannie doesn't work for you? Then click on the text link at the top of the page, or here.)
